Can you confirm that the product sold on a marketplace is yours?

Packaging is copied and serial numbers are imitated. When a consumer complains, you cannot say whether the product came from you.

Implementation

Lumvex in cosmetics.

The signature is applied within your box and label print run; your design is untouched. You see which region your product was read in and notice an unexpected market. Whether a returned product is yours is settled on the spot.

We offer cosmetics brands a setup that lets them show which channel a product was sold in and that it is genuine.

Situations met often in this industry: the origin of a product on a marketplace stays unclear; a consumer complaint is attributed to your brand; you cannot separate channels outside your authorised sellers; counterfeit product comes back to you as a return.

Regulation

Regulations relevant to traceability.

EU

Cosmetic Products Regulation (EC) 1223/2009

Requires a responsible person established in the EU for every cosmetic product placed on the EU market, electronic notification before the product is placed on the market, and a batch number or a reference identifying the product on the label. Having batch information on the product forms the basis of traceability in recalls and complaint investigations.

TR

Cosmetics Law No. 5324 and the Cosmetic Products Regulation: ÜTS notification

In Türkiye, cosmetic products must be notified to the Ministry of Health before they are placed on the market for the first time; the responsible person files the notification with TİTCK through the Product Tracking System (ÜTS), together with the product's original label. This record is the primary source consulted when identifying which responsible person a product on the market belongs to.

FAQ

Questions about cosmetics

Does the signature change how the product or packaging looks?

No. The signature cannot be seen with the naked eye; the colour, texture and packaging design of your product stay exactly as they are.

How do we tell whether a returned product is ours?

The returned product is held to the reader. A product without the signature separates on the spot, so a counterfeit is not accepted as a return.
